Hey Everyone,

First post here, looking for some advice. I am in the process of rebuilding my front suspension and noticed that some of the threads on my lower control arm bolts were damaged when I removed them. The new Lower control arms I am installing have spherical bearings, so do you think it would OK to replace those eccentric LCA bolts with Similar size, but standard Grade 8 bolts, washers and nuts?

I know the eccentric bolts help with alignment, but I was thinking the spherical bearings sort of override that.

the install is on a 65 Impala, with LCAs from global west.

Any input is much appreciated, thank you.

I'd say no. You absolutely need that alignment capability. Just find a better pair, or attempt to clean them up by running a die over the damage. Good luck regardless.

Thank you, I found a pair on ebay for pretty cheap but the condition of them isnt great. I will keep you in mind if they dont work out.

Sounds like you all recommend using the stock eccentric bolts though, so thank you all.
