If anyone has modified their 49-54 manual transmission convertible, and no longer needs/wants their original clutch adjusting rod, Group # 0.787 (It is the threaded piece that looks like a boomerang.). It differs in length from the closed body styles. Could you please contact/PM with availability and cost. Thanks Steve

Is the one for a convertible longer or shorter?

The parts book lists the convertible (part # 3688194) as 7 1/8" long. All the other body styles (part # 3688232) as 6 7/8" long.

As mentioned the parts book says it is longer for the convertible. I believe the length difference is in the flattened area of the rod. Thanks.

I don't know how the rod is measured, however I have attached a picture of an adjusting rod from a 50 hardtop. I know that the circled flattened part is longer on a convertible. The shorter rod hits on the X part of the frame.

On the convertible rod the flattened part (circled) is longer.

i have 3 rods 2 of them have the flattened or recessed areas measured 1 inch long while the other one has the flattened or recessed area measuring 1 1/8 is this what you are looking for plus after quick wire wheel cleaning found that the larger flat area part has an E stamped on it hope this helps also it is a hair over 7 1/8 inches long measuring end to end with a cloth tape measure i think it is the one you are looking for

Received this today, wasn't expecting that he would remove it from car. This is from a driver 50 convertible. This is the part that I need. Thanks
