How much should the front half of the driveshaft be shortened? The car is 100% stock now 283/pg

And what do you do with a crossmember?

When I installed the OD transmission in place of my stock 3-speed, I simply measured the difference in transmission lengths from the mounting flange to the end of the tailshaft. I took the front driveshaft to a local driveline shop, had them cut out the difference that I measured above, reweld and balance. It fit perfectly with no problems.
