I purchased a switch for the Parking brake on my "59" Impala I looked for the spot to mount it but didn't see one so I removed the housing thinking it may be on the side between the housing and kick panels and no hole for it. The dash gauge is wired I tested the switch and it all works but where the heck do I mount the switch or is the housing not the right one it was on the car when I purchased it could it be that someone put a different housing in the first 2 pictures are of the side between the housing and kick panel the next 2 are of the side that faces the inside and the last is of the switch

This is my '60 Impala parking brake. My switch is attached with a clutch head screw and nut. The tab goes in the slotted hole and mounted between the bracket and kick panel. Hope that this helps. Lamar

I zoomed in a picture of the bracket and I think that the part the cable attaches to and acuates the switch is all one piece and it looks like it can be replaced since there is a cotter key in the pen that holds it on. Maybe those can be found. Good luck and let us know. Lamar

Well from the pics it appears that someone changed the assembly I purchased the car in 1992 and finished the restoration in 2016 that assembly is the one that was on it. I can't understand why they would do that but oh well
Thanks for the info

Yes sir you have a 60 park brake in yours. Although 59 and 60 will both physically interchange, 60 was an improvement over the 59 as it raised the bottom of the pedal up -out of the way another inch.
