What I've got is a 2013 Silverado with the brake lights not working, doesn't want to come out of park, and the Stabiltrak/Traction control lights on. I assumed it was the brake light switch, but after replacing it, it still doesn't work. If I pull the brake switch off of its mounting bracket, I can manually operate the switch, and everything works fine. The brake light switch has one plastic stud that it sits, then rotates back and a screw goes through the bracket to secure it. Where it sits in the bracket is nowhere near where the brakes lights activate when operating it manually. There are a couple of different holes in the bracket, but I only found one position that will mount properly. I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong, or if I'm missing a piece. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum.
2 things come to mind.
MAy have to relearn the BPPS(brake pedal position sensor)
Can only be done with a scantool to my knowledge.
Can you post a pic of it mounted so we can verify it is installed correctly

I can't seem to see how to add a picture. I plugged in my scanner, went though the Brake Pedal Position Calibration procedure. And it says brake pedal position to low, procedure failed. I have a picture of the switch installed and a picture of the scanner measage

Oddly enough I have had this same issue around that era.
Very irritating when you cannot get it out of park.
Not to mention not having brake lights unless you are mashing on the pedal

I just wanted to give an update. I ended up having to drill a new hole in the bracket up under the dash to align the brake switch. Then I used my scanner to calibrate it. Thank you all

Thanks for updating.
I am just curious what caused the issue.
HAs this been a ongoing issue or just occurred one day?
