I recently replaced the wiring harness in my Aerosedan with a modern harness. Things went great and everything works but my battery was draining a bit. A buddy and I tracked it down and it was the trunk light. It was on. I can't find any information on the trunk interior light. Is it a mercury switch that is supposed to turn on when the lid is opened? Does anyone make replacements or is there a suggestion on how to deal with it? I know I can add a switch. Just wondering if other people have had this issue and what they did to solve it. Thank you in advance.

I have a 1948 Chevy Fleetline and it had no trunk light. It did have a lens built into the right inside of the taillight, so if you left the marker lights on it would put a soft glow of light in the trunk. If you have the original taillights look at the backsides of them.I see you asked this a long time ago, I was just looking thru and thought I answer.
