Fellow social distancers, Since I have updated my '65 Impala steering to correct the Ackerman angle, I have FREE TO A GOOD HOME the steering knuckles I removed, which are in perfect condition. All I ask is that you pay the shipping from ZIP 87043. First come , first served. Bill

kwhizz,
YES! Before updating to '67/'70 steering linkage I could make a slow, sharp circle in either direction and hear/see front tire marks on the pavement. After updating the above problem is gone. Does my '65 SS steer any better on the highway? Maybe, but certainly no worse!
As I understand it, my car was fine with the stock 14" wheels and bias ply tires. But when I switched to 15" wheels with wider tires I changed the Ackerman angle which caused the problem.
I am a nit picker, I believe I improved the handling of my car. What have others on this DB found? I would be interested to hear their findings. Bill
