454,.030"over,bowtie alum.heads,2.19/1.88 valves,110cc comb.chambers.Roller cam is 222/229 dur. at .050 with .540/.563 lift on 110 centers.19cc piston dome giving approx.10.35:1 comp.(according to a machinist).Running a 770 Holley.Recently did some suspension changes and now the full length headers are about 3" off the ground.I'm gonna go with some mid length headers, but want to have "ideal" sized primaries with this combo. The Hookers on it now (got a good deal and really wasn't mindful of primary size at the time)have 2" primaries.Might even be 2 1/8th.I feel they are a bit large for this combo.Any input?

be aware that headers only become efficient at scavenging the cylinders and boosting power,
if they have an open collector OR a low flow restriction exhaust behind them.
and theres generally a specific power/rpm band where they provide a very noticeable boost in power.

IF YOU CAN,T SMOKE THE TIRES AT WILL,FROM A 60 MPH ROLLING START YOUR ENGINE NEEDS MORE WORK!!"!
IF YOU CAN , YOU NEED BETTER TIRES AND YOUR SUSPENSION NEEDS MORE WORK!!

You're probably not making enough power to need 2-1/8" primaries.

If you are going to run mid length headers you can't really take advantage of 2-1/8" primaries anyway.

You are absolutly right. As I already mentioned they're too big.My cam seems to really turn on above 3000 instead of the 2300 on the card.Ok if I'm running around at 3g and above.
