OK...I'm not working on a Camaro...

This is a general engine swap question

I figured somebody here might know.

I have an 86 350 runner....with the one piece rear main seal.....that I was going to install.... in a 59 chev wagon

It appears that we need a new specific flywheel.....and starter.....haven't checked bell housing yet....

Is there anything else I need to know...that will complicate my swap...with newer style engine?

Thanks

alternator, power steering and a/c brackets need to be correct for that block and head combination.
Mounts aren't an issue.

Late to this post, but I did the same swap last fall, but into my '39 Chevy. Yes, the flywheel is specific to the one piece rear main seal. The harmonic balancer is also speficic as the one piece main SBC is a half breed. It isn't internally balanced, nor externally balanced. It's half and half. Flywheel is externally balanced, but harmonic balancer is not. And the balancer from an earlier SBC is a different crankshaft diameter, so wont fit it.
But I found no issues with the mounts for accessories, and unless it's an extremely new SBC it should be the same as pre 1987 SBC engines. I believe the changes to pulleys, and brackets was more around 1993 or 94 and later? Mine is a 1990 and not problem with brackets.
