Not sure if this the right forum...... 47 Chevy convertible

I first installed a hydraulic clutch on my 47, its always been petty stiff, now its binding & sticking. Any ideas what I did wrong? I would think a hydraulic system would have a easy pedal, not a hard one.
I tried my best to have a level piston movement; Im using the original clutch pedal set up with the slave cylinder.
Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!
Bru

Bru,

Can you post a picture of the pedal and linkage setup?

YOU COULD LOOK THRU THIS LINK,THE LINE UP FROM THE SLAVE TO THE FORK IS CRITICAL.
I HAVE THE FACTORY HYD CLUTCH IN MY 93.

Its pretty hard to show a complete pic because the X frame is in the way. Thats why I had to go with a hydraulic system, there was no clearance for a manual clutch release, but I will try
The car and components only have around 1500 miles on it. Always been really stiff since new, but now its binding when I push it in down position.
I used a Wilwood slave.

Thanks!

Thanks a lot for the exploded view!
My bell is from a Tri 5 and the clutch and pressure plate are from a '96 set up or around that year.
I think maybe the cylinder is not big enough?

Thanks!

I SLEEP DURING THE DAY SO MY REPLYS WILL BE LATE.

THE SLAVE CYL WILL ONLY HAVE SO MUCH TRAVEL TO THE ROD THAT SITS IN THE FORK WHEN THE CLUTCH PEDAL IS PUSHED IN.
SO TRAVEL TO THE PRESSURE PLATE WILL HAVE TO BE ADJUSTED.
SINCE THE CLUTCH IS ALWAYS ENGAGED YOU ONLY NEED ENUFF TRAVEL TO GET THE PRESSURE PLATE OFF THE CLUTCH.
NATURALLY NOT PHYSICALLY BEING THERE I CANT SEE WHAT GOING ON.

Tony
Thanks so much for the link, I will & crawl under the car tomorrow & look to see if the rod is adjustable, I think it is not, cant remember.
If thats the reason it rock hard, should be an easy fix.
I power bled it yesterday, no help
Thanks again
