Hi everyone,

I am looking to replace my rear lug studs on my 62 impala with longer studs to make sure there’s enough thread for my new wheels. I can only find longer studs with the 0.487” knurl. I think the original is a 0.472” knurl? Will the larger knurl fit once it’s pressed in or do I need to keep looking for a longer stud with 0.472” knurl?

If there are any recommendations for the right longer lug studs, please send me the part #. I am just looking for a 0.5 to 0.75” longer Stud than original.

Thanks

When I was racing in the early '70s, I had to use longer wheel studs. I forget which ones I bought, but they came with instructions to use a certain size drill and drill out the original holes. That's the only way to properly install studs with larger splines. Don't try to force them into the smaller holes.
