Howdy ! As most of you guys know Hurricane Harvey came to the Gulf Coast and unfortunately put our house and 56 Nomad 3 feet under water.

My son and I have been slowly pulling the car apart (again) and getting it cleaned up etc. That being said, we had installed a 350 GM crate that was suppose to be about 260 hp.GM Engine#10066036 / 4 Bolt. While we have it out of the car, we figured it is time to finally help it get closer to or a tad better that 400 HP as I'm thinking that might be the best this block can handle.
We have completely disassembled the engine down to the bare block and upon a close eyeball inspection, it appears the block is in great shape. The engine had less than 10 k miles when it went under water. I drained the Harvey water, flushed the engine and filled it with fresh oil so no Rust is on the cylinder walls etc.

We are looking for a good engine builder in the Houston area for ideas and the skills to get us there. Just an FYI. it had a Turbo 350 trans, but I'm going with a 700 R4 after the engine work is done.

Thanks in advance for any reply

Seems both shops have been around a long time,
I can say Houston Engine and Balance has been at the same location for at least 40 years.
I' m sure USA has been around about the same amount of time just with a few different names.
I would recommend either shop, but then I have no idea where else to go.
Other smaller shops sub work out to both shops.
Houston Engine did a 327 for me a while back, no issues,
And as I previously posted USA did a set of heads for me, no issues.

I was talking to another buddy and he mentioned both shops and that they both had good reputations. I'm going to head over there way Tuesday and have a visit with them.
Thanks again !!
