I am looking to replace the door hinge pocket on my Nomad since the spring clips that hold the door open are gone. My question concerns the threaded plate in the cowl for the bolts that hold the pocket in place. Anyone had problems, like the plate falling in or out or wherever it may go so the bolt holes don't line up or are inaccessible? If all is good the plate should stay in place? Right? Wondering.

The plates are trapped in a welded on pocket on the firewall/cowl. There is oversize holes to allow for reinsertion of the bolts when the pocket is replaced. The nut plates are loose in the pocket to allow for adjustment.
