Added a stronger Edelbrock cam and a different bellhousing with an engine adapter we made. Painted the engine compartment while the engine was out and made new fuel lines. Powder coated intake and valve covers and ceramic coated the headers. New air filters, new distributor and MSD ignition. Hopefully have it running this week.

Nice that you kept it period Chrevrolet...looks like something GM might have put together; like something that engineering and design depts. may have collaberated on.

Are you still running the enclosed drive line, just curious if the extra power is going to shove that original 3speed over the edge

Yes, still torque tube and three on the tree with a PG 3.55 rear. I power it on gradually except when the tri-power kicks in and that's when it's already cruising. No burnouts here!

Got 'er done. Drove back to my place the other day. Added an MSD ignition box under the battery tray and MSD coil. Couple of small details to do but it drove nice on a cold day.

Looks great. I really like the black.
You said you are running an MSD ignition. Is it the 6AL? If it is, I might be wrong, and the picture might not be showing the correct size, but the plug wires look small for that system. Also the coil wire looks stretched.
I had the coil mounted similar to yours and the wire came out part way because of engine movement. She still ran but was arcing and burnt the nose of the coil thru on one side. Only found it because I kept smelling something burnt under the hood. Cost me another MSD coil.

Thanks 50hotrod. Yep, need a longer coil wire. It is a Model 6200 MSD box. I'll check about the plug wires. Thanks for the tip!

The main purpose of pulling the engine in the first place was to swap bellhousings from the modified '63 Vette in the top photo to a '62-'64 Nova to get a more natural position of the clutch arm (to 5:00 from 3:00). Made an adapter plate to mate the stock 1950 3-speed using an extra borrowed trans. Bending, bracing and lengthening the offset arm was needed and now the clutch action is much smoother than before. The clutch link action is now parallel like the stock '50 rather than angled down.
