Hi guys, well I was sad to sell my precious Annie, but it was time. I have nowhere to store it in the winter time and I had gone about as far as my finances would take me. All she needed was a good paint job (and by good I mean 5-6 grand good).
She found a very good home in Seattle and the new owner says I can come down and visit her anytime I want.
Just last Saturday I picked up a new project/money pit in the guise of a 66 2 dr Impala coupe. This should keep me occupied for probably the next year at least.
It came with a boat load of parts, full interior, complete front clip,re-chromed bumpers, too many to list here.
What the heck, it's going to be a fun trip.

Sounds like you got bored with Annie.

Good idea to try a 66, lots of improvements with new in 65 bugs worked out by then.
That's why I wouldn't mind changing my 69 Mustang for a 70.
If I change my Impala though, I have a 67 in mind.
Did you buy it locally?
Tell us about the drive train and options.

Hi there Ryan, I did pick it up locally (sort of) originally Alberta registered Canadian built car, but I bought it off Craigslist from Langley.
No motor or tranny in it, hence the high front end stance. I'm thinking 454 and 400 Turbo?? It's got a 12 bolt with factory 4 control arms.
Lorne is working on sourcing the big block and trans, he has more contacts than me.
If anybody could decode this puppy I would appreciate it :
VIN 616437028xxx
From the cowl tag:
Style: 164372-12-28
Body No: 130130
Paint: LC (2 tone?)
Trim: 853
Very bottom of cowl tag reads D99 (no idea what that is)

LC is tropic turquoise body with ermine white roof
D99 is the RPO for two-toned paint with the color combo specified by LC on your car

Edit: I see in Canada, ermine white was called provincial white

Steve, Here's a sample of the Tropic Turquoise with White top, albeit a '66 2-door Post.

It would look stunning with a B&W interior color combo, although not factory.

I'd be curious to know if adding a vinyl top rather than painted White would devalue it by the purists, or if it would even matter?

I think the fact that it IS painted adds more uniqueness to it.
I assume that is an option the customer would have decided for himself at the time of ordering the car...?

Steve, sorry to see it go but you have another to fill the void. Here is some pics of a beautiful tropic turquoise and white. This guy did a beautiful restoration on it.
