This is probably a rehash of an old subject but I do not get on this forum very often. I am trying to verify the engine ID on my 1964 SS with 300HP 327 and 4spd. The casting number is 3782870 and the ID stamped on the front is F05I0HO. The suffix code I found says this is a 65 vette engine with an automatic. I'm looking for a verification of what the "HO" suffix is.

HO is the suffix for a '64 Corvette 327 with Powerglide, but the the 250hp, not the 300hp.
If it's out of a Corvette, the VIN derivitive should be stamped on the same block surface as the assembly stamp.

Verne,
The '64 corvette 327 250hp at suffix is SC, suffix HO was used for the '65 corvette 250hp at. Per the corvette black book.
