For years the rear defrost timer never timed out. Now the defrost works intermittently.
I swapped the relay and the old one works in the start socket.
I pulled up the carpet at the pass door and checked for power in the feed which works intermittently which leads me to think it is the timer.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do the outside mirrors defrost while the rear window does not?

I have to add that the switch lights up every time I push the button.
The mirrors have never worked that great since I have had the car, however the defogger always worked up till now. Sounds kind of funny!

Wiring diagram shows power to both when relay energizes. I need to figure out how to post it for you.
