Besides the two relays out on the radiator filler panel that supplies direct voltage to my headlights from the alternator to battery charging wire triggered by the high and low beam switch I installed a relay under my dash that intercepts the constant power supply to the headlight switch triggered by an accessory terminal on the fuse panel which is only powered when the key is on. This way the head lights can not be left on accidentally.
I leave the headlight switch pulled out to the ON position so the headlights come ON every time I turn the car on and OFF when I turn the car off. This make my headlights more automatic like my late model vehicles.
