I'm gonna post this here instead of the other forum. Even though my truck is a 2000, it's still the GMT400 body style. So I hope it's alright.

Is there a difference in the steering set up on a C2500 versus a C1500? Or Suburban or Tahoe for that matter.

My truck is a 300K mile ex farm truck, so needless to say it needs some "new" front end/steering parts.

This truck isn't worth all brand new parts, so I'm hoping to find some good parts at the junkyard. Pitman arm, steering gearbox stuff like that. But I just needed to know what, if any parts are C2500 exclusive.

Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Why go used when rockauto has ac delco tie rods for under $10 and ider&pitman arms for under $20?
Steering box definitely go used
Goto rockauto and click on the part number of what you are looking for and they list all the applications for that part

If you have the time, you can buy the acdelco overhaul kit for the steering gearbox for a fraction of the cost of replacing the steering gearbox.
There are excellent overhaul guides on YouTube that will walk you through the overhaul/rebuild procedure. I did this on my ‘96 Express steering gearbox (and ps pump) and it worked out perfectly.

On this particular truck I'm going to start off used because I'm not 100% certain it's going to be a keeper. I'd definitely love to keep it, but it just may not be in the cards.

On my '91 I did the entire front end brand new, all Moog parts because I knew that one wasn't going anywhere.

The parts I would buy used would be a fraction of the cost versus brand new. I'm talking pitman arms for less than $2 out the door. And wrecked vehicle with less than 150K miles is a fairly common occurrence where I'm located. So why not?

Funny you should mention the power steering rebuild kit. I just saw that one the other day. And as luck would have it, my PS pump is whining something fierce!
