I don't know how many of you out there are willing to go the imperfect fit route when approaching your C10 projects but, in my case I'm not opposed to going with function of over form when it makes sense.

I was looking for a hard bed cover for my 1970 C10 CST Longbed. The one I found and eventually fit to my truck came off of a 2013 Ford F-150 Longbed. In this case he was selling it with all the hardware and the mounting bracketry. He let me set it on the truck to test fittment. I liked what I was seeing so in the end I paid $200.00 for it (it was listed for $300.00).

Here's a photo or two from when I had it just set on the rails and strapped down with a tie-down ratchet strap. [image] zbQeE0sWDyNB3LBr7QhK3revd IjLE14tT2T4q6N2NJIzY_O6H7 aGZ4Q?key=aVFSQUF5d3RKVHl Rd2Y3VXV4T2JvZW1aVlhWTGdR [/image]

It does have a slight "Overbite" at the tail end but it still catches the gate to prevent it from dropping open if someone uses the lever/handle.

After a little time spent adding in some redwood planks for height adjustment

and then securing the brackets to the bed rails, I've got a smooth operating hard tonneau on my truck.

Here's a look at it opened and held up by the struts (which thankfully were in EXCELLENT shape too).

This is one of the most budget friendly functional mods I can think of. A cover that was custom fit for my truck would be nice but those new are over $1500 and nobody seems to be trying to sell used covers for the 8' beds like what my longbed has.

Besides, some of the forming on this F-150 is almost perfectly matched to my C10. Here's a small example:

I'm pleased for sure.

P.S. I am still trying to get the hang of posting successfully in the forum with regard to including photos. I was able to get three photos to upload but apparently that is the max allowed. Maybe I need to post multiple "Replies" to my own thread to get the rest of the photos to show up in the body of the post, vs. just via the links I used? Not sure. I'm better at Low-tech, hence the 1970 truck with the somewhat ill-fitting bed cover.
