Good info! (I'll assume this was put on your '95 K1500?).

I am planning to "upgrade" my '94 K Blazer's brake this summer. I have a SF rear w/larger drum brakes already but want to do the 1T front calipers. This might be a nice MC for that combo?

Any issues with the reach of the lines, or do they line right up and just need the adapter fitting? It appears to line right up in the pic....

Sorry, Cj, yes. My 95.

Easy bolt up. The only small challenge, and it really wasn’t bad, was to uncoil the lines just a bit to make sure they were square with the casting. Otherwise, very easy. I would think that this will make your rig very safe once you get it all set up. It’s such a difference. Zero fade, solid feel. It’s gonna take a little getting used to because it did shorten the stopping distance a bit.

For the novice wrench heads reading this, you must bench bleed the master cylinder before you install it. You will drop a little brake fluid just trying to do the swap. Be careful. Brake fluid is very caustic to painted surfaces. Finally, make sure to bleed your lines to each wheel to make sure there is no trapped air. Start at passenger rear, then driver rear, then passenger front, and finally driver front.

Also, the unused socket between the reservoirs is for a sensor that the ‘99 and up trucks have that the GMT400’s don’t.

Do you have more solid braking with this? I have a 1990 c1500 and the brakes seem to take forever to stop the truck.

OMG, yes!

It’s worth the ~$100. So easy to do. Takes a while to get the MC bench bled, but installing it is so easy. That Benjamin covers the MC, adapter and a quart of DOT3.

Thank you for posting this. I was actually coming here today to look for some advice on the braking because I almost rear ended someone that slammed on their brakes.

I thank you for posting this as well. My pedal on the 97 GMC suburban has always been soft and takes longer that I want to stop. I will look at swapping out my master cylinder with this one. I always thought it was something bad with the ABS system for the spongy feel.

The MC swap won't prevent you from rear ending someone when you're following to close.....just had to mention that...LOL

If you want to go with a Delco, great. Just go with one from an ‘02 Tahoe. Way better response.
