1961 last year and 270hp. I remember looking at a 56 Vette with dual quads and a PG and thinking a strange combo. Have met many who thought it was great.

That 283/270 was a mighty combo for being so small....

Back in the day, my best buddy Mike had a '56 "Vette. When he got it, it had a 265, but he blew that engine up pretty quickly. Then he put a 283 in it, and at some point got a dual 4 set-up for it. Man alive, when he'd stomp the gas, the sound from the engine was un-friggin'-believable. He blew that engine up within a few months too.

'Vettes were cheap then. I had the yellow one in my avatar. I was running a 327 with double-hump heads and a quadrajet.
