Hi guys, my 93 started making a loud grinding, clicking type noise in 4 wheel drive recently. Sounds like coming from the transfer case or front hubs. Too cold at the time to really get down and investigate. 4 wheel drive would not engage though the light on the shifter showed it to be in 4x4.
Does this sound familiar at all to anyone? Thank you!

The 93 has a thermal actuator that can give you issues. The fact that the light is on tells me that the actuator does actually work. Your issue is likely with a slipped lock ring on the passenger side front axle.

Welcome to the site. Go here to find all the manuals for your truck:

Nice pic CowboyTrukr. It's a great breakdown. I could probably break one down and rebuilt it using the pic.
