Not a big shock, but you never know how someone thinks about it until they do or don't.

Following the same mode of operation as Gordon and Earnhardt Jr. A full year to sell t-shirts and souvenirs.

It gives everyone a whole year (or nearly that) to speculate on who's up next at Hendrick. It's not as clear as the last 3 new Hendrick drivers.

We all knew it was about time for him to set a timeline. Even though he hasn't won in quite a while I say he is still going out on top with all his wins and 7 championships. Not only is he a great racer but a great human as well. He is one of the greats in auto racing.

its hard to get to the top of the hill, let alone stay there year after year. He did that not long ago. He's a champ, no doubt. Sad to see him go...he interviews well for Nascar's image. Just hasn't had many reasons to be interviewed after races in the last few years.

I'm sure he'll find his way back into off roading or some other endeavor that he can satisfy the need for speed.

Jeffs last year was a bummer for me to watch. Not looking forward to JJ last tour next year. I don't see him doing better.

It will be the same as Gordon's or Jr.'s last year unless Hendrick can do something with their fleet's performance by giving him better cars. I kind of expect a marginal improvement vs. the field there but nothing major. He would still have to outperform the other 3 Hendrick drivers to get a win.

More interesting will be the race for who gets the seat in 2021. I've seen some commentary that it should be a veteran. Maybe Mark Martin could make a comeback again?
