Does anyone know where I can find a neutral safety/backup light switch for my 51 powerglide? I have checked Chevys of the forties, Filling station, Eckards and Bob's classics.

I plan on keeping my car for a long while and I am trying to collect some of the hard to find parts just in case.

Thanks, Pete

Love it or hate it, eBay is a great source for some parts that you cannot find anywhere else.

I got mine from a junkyard. It was actually in pretty good shape.

Yeah...they show up from time to time...of course with the back up light switch, not as often.

I looked through my stash of extra parts and found one. I had bought a NOS one when I was building my Sedan Delivery and tried to use it with the TH 400 but it it didn’t work out. I’ll take 40 and pay the shipping. That’s less than what it cost me

Thanks for the responses. I had already placed a bid on the one on ebay. If that fails I might be in touch.

There are some very neat units that bolt onto the hosing near where the selector lever is. I’ve seen them for th350. I’m sure with their adjustability and some creativity you can make one work. They are essentially like modern cars. Mounted on the trans at at the linkage
