Very disappointing yesterday for 3 of those top 4 contender teams...

Lots of "pit crew errors=shot ourselves in the foot" incidents cost 2 of them the victory...

Truex team- left front and right front tires switched???? wtf?
Hamlin team- massive tape added to grill on front-overheated the car at speed???? wtf?

And Harvicks team just couldnt get his car to stick on long green flag he faded backwards over the course of the last long run.

And why didn't someone throw a water bottle out the window with 10 laps to go and cause a yellow so we could see a photo finish? What was NASCAR thinking to let that race run itself out without a late yelow flag?

So our favorite shrub wins because his team didnt shoot him in the foot. Good on them. They deserve that win.

I need a break from all this man drama for a few months till next season.

I had the impression that the 19 car's failure to win was just as much that they weren't as fast in the dark as when it was daylight vs. the pit problem with switching the tires. I was pretty amazed that they recovered as well as they did. The car was still fast for one run after the miscue but lost something after that.

The 11 car's grille tape deal was not a pit mistake, it was a failed "Hail Mary" strategy. They meant to do it. I was pretty amazed that it blew water out the overflow that many laps but actually didn't overheat any more after they pulled the tape - or blow up.

The 4 was only fast for the first 15-20 laps of a run. He might have had a chance if there had been 15-20 cautions and he had a set of tires for each caution.

I too kept expecting a late caution but it wasn't in Nascar's script this time.

Can Shrub win 6 more championships before he retires? Even 5? I kind of doubt it.

I didn't get to watch it but recorded it. Now knowing shrub won the thing I won't bother to watch it. I certainly hope he doesn't win another 5. He doesn't deserve to stand with the greats. IMO There's a lot more to being a champion than win counts.
And it's surprising to say the least that there was not a caution in the last few laps to bunch the field up for the now common sprint to the big finish. Like you guys I'm ready for the off season but will sure be happy to see Daytona come around again.
