I'm not having much luck finding the license plate light that fits in the opening in my 54-210. I'm sure the original probably wouldn't work any how so what is a good alternative? The wire that's hanging down has what appears to be a plugin end but looks to be damaged also so I'll need to address this as well. The car is a 12volt system.

I'm not certain where the license plate would have been mounted on a 210? Bumper, bumper guard, trunk lid? My '53 Belair convertible has brackets on the bumper guards. 210?

My 210 (convertible) has a chrome section going from bumper guard to bumper guard, with the license plate suspended from that chrome section, and a license plate light on the chrome section also.

The new location for all 1953-54 Chevrolets [except SW and SD] was on the rear bumper guard tie bar. I don't know of any alternatives though that would work. This is one that is on eBay right now...I'm guessing that the same one was used on passenger cars AND station wagon and sedan Delivery, but mounted differently. I'd have research that to be sure.

UPDATE: Obviously the bracket and light are different "somehow" between the passenger car and sedan delivery and station wagon....a different part number is shown in the parts catalog. Might be a small difference like the length of the wiring...but not sure.

Yes that's exactly where it's at. I tried to post a pic but I guess I'll need to host it somewhere first. As I mentioned there is one single wire also hanging down and I'm not sure how that will work with any after market lights since they all have two wire connections.

One wire would just have to be led and attached to ground [the body / frame] somewhere with a screw.
