Need information from the educated. Question arises from post on 348-409.com.

Can a 1963 Impala 340 hp 409 with a three speed column shifter come from the factory WITHOUT a dashboard factory tachometer? Is this possible? Did all 409 1963 & 1964 Impalas - BA - Bis. have to have a dashboard tachometer? What was Chevys standard operating procedure from the factory?

    In response to fuzz1957

From the info I have seen the Tach was standard only on 4spd cars of 300 340 400 and 425hp engines. It was optional on others.
