I'm working on a '00 C2500.

I'm in the process of installing an aftermarket stereo system & needing to attach a power wire from the battery to the amplifier.

I noticed the battery terminal has 2 leads coming off of it. The first is the main lead, going to the alternator etc. etc. I don't want to mess with that one. My question is regarding the second lead. It runs from the battery all the way over to the Fuse Relay Center & looks to be "extra" as far as I can tell. Or possibly for the trailer hookup wiring that was originally there.

Can I leave the second lead off the battery terminal? The one running all the way over to the Fuse Relay Center. I attached a picture for clarity. The wire with the yellow square around it is the one I'm hoping to leave off. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Why would you want to remove either cable? You can just add another to the terminal.

Mostly for ease of installation. But secondly because I'm an avid fan of removing things that are no longer being used.

But since I wasn't certain it's no longer in use, I let it be & just installed a different terminal screw.
