The aft end of the driver side rocker panel trim that goes under the doors from front to rear has popped loose from its clip. What do I have to do to fasten it back together? There is a screw near the front edge of the strip. If I remove the screw will the trim piece slide forward?

I've never worked on these pieces before so some skilled advice from someone with experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks folks!

Do you have the 58 Assembly Manual? Sect 1, Sheet 18.00 shows how the stainless rocker molding is attached. The front of the molding is held by that exposed screw. The rear is held by a clip with nut accessible from inside the wheel well. In between there are four clips: the molding's top and bottom lips just snap over these four clips.

You may not have to remove the whole molding to fix your problem. That rear clip is a winged clip that twists so the ends of it's two wings wedge into the lips on the backside of the molding. With the nut inside the wheel well loose, you may be able to twist the clip back into position in the molding lips. When I did this I needed a skinny screwdriver to help push the wings into position, working the screwdriver in behind the molding from a gap in the molding's bottom lip.

Thank you so much. I do have the assembly manual and will have a go at it tomorrow.
