Wow, that looks familiar! When I got my truck (about 20 years ago) I thought it may have age related electrical "issues". An occasional puff of smoke, a bit of flame and that unique electrical aroma confirmed my suspicions. I looked it over, stared at it for a while and removed every inch of wire from the entire truck. Put in a new aftermarket harness and I've been happy ever since.

Looks real nice Don. I haven't let any smoke out yet. There was not one, but two rheostats in the fuel gauge wiring. The tank unit only went about 6 inches into the tank the rest of it was gone...I assume it's at the bottom. No wonder he was using a piece of irrigation drip line to see how much fuel was still in the tank.

I'm not looking forward to my wiring. I will have to hire it out. 4 remote fans, secondary drag radiator with electric water pump, electric P/S and A/C. Electric oil cooler/heater. Distributorless ignition and duel batteries. 250 amp alt. with an ever growing number of gizmos.
