I have a 94 LT-1 that will not start if its extremely hot outside or the car has run and gets up to operating temp. I suspect its the optispark as I have replaced the distributor twice (parts store optispark). Before I replace the optispark again does anyone have a suggestion as to what the problem maybe? The car will start sometimes in the morning after the temp has cooled off.

Have you tried checking the fuel pressure?

Have you checked the ignition coil? As you know, its mounted on front of the driver's cylinder head and I understand that if the correct "grease" is not used when installing/reinstalling it will eventually bake it. I had a similar experience and it cost me two tows (one home on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of mall traffic and the other a few days later to the shop when I could not figure it out - my car is OBD I) plus the cost of the coil and labor.

Good luck.
