It's tough to run a sport that requires outdoor weather cooperation (especially in the south during hurricane season).

I recorded it, but figured out (this morning when attempting to watch it). Guess they started it at 10pm last night. What would you do if you sold out your stadium and know the next 5 days were going to be a washout? You'd probably start it at the exact moment it stopped raining (for like maybe 20 minutes?) and then call the race early.

Those fans got short changed in my book.

Out here on the west coast, it was only 104 yesterday with high humidity. The very reason why fans stopped coming to Calif Speedway to sit in the hot sun and watch live racing.

Nascar can't win at this without fully covered tracks. (bwa ha ha ha :-)

    In response to WagonCrazy

I sat there last night and wondered why they didn't postpone until today. I finally figured out that even yesterday's rain was linked to the hurricane, at least in its movement, and they must have figured that today would be no better, probably worse. And Tuesday even worse if it came to that.

I watched the race until about midway and went to bed. Today I watched the abbreviated/condensed 2 hour version and I was amazed at the number of people in the stands at race end. Usually I'm amazed at how few are in the stands at the start. So they did the best they could.

The Toyotas dominated the race but your boy was nowhere to be seen. LOL

Johnson finally looked like he was somewhat competitive until he got caught up in the big wreck, no fault of his. Looks like he won't make the playoffs. Too many cars in the playoffs anyway.
