Had under side of car sand blasted and then sprayed on Eastwood after blast but it dried on the bare metal and now it has a lot of powder residue in the seams a tight spots that cant be reached with a scotch brite or rag to wipe down. I want to paint it with black epoxy and then SEM chassis black but I have a huge concern for adhesion. Any way to dissolve of wash residue away?! Super frustrated at this point... Thanks in advance!

I would spray some acetone in those areas and see what it does to get rid of the residue. Technically the acetone should be followed up by wiping with a clean rag, but that doesn’t sound possible in your case. But if it knocks off the powder residue, you’ll be better off than if you left it there.

I was reading some of the FAQs from Eastwood’s site and many of the prep questions they answered wipe it down with acetone. That was my main reason for suggesting it.

Thank you, I called Eastwood and didn't get a great answer on my situation, I have a snap-on blow gun with a liquid suction feed that I'm going to try with acetone and then prep-sol. Thank you for your guidance, I will let you know how it goes. Scott

I used the acetone and prep-sol and didn't seem to do much, so I washed it down with hot water and force air dried it and most of the residue came off. I epoxy painted the frame and floors and top coated with SEM chassis black with hardener and am happy with the turn out. I would not recommend Eastwood after blast to be used on components that cannot be wiped off once applied, especially in seams. Thank you for the info/guidance Jay!

Glad to hear it sounds like you got it. Sorry my suggestions didn’t have much effect.
