I'm getting ready to repair the lower passenger door hinge on my 64 El Camino. The kit everyone is selling shows a roller, my hinge doesn't have a roller. Has anyone repaired their hinge with one of these kits? Thanks

The roller is further up part of the mechanism that holds the door open, where the small spring is, at least that's where mine is on the 67. Mabe you already got it figured out

My 64 Chevelle SS does not have the roller it has a flat metal plate with two notches to catch a pin that is part of the hinge. The spring goes between the plate and a recessed area on the hinge. I have not seen one listed in the catalogues

Your right Skunk I think someone forgot that the 64 is totally different than the 65 and up. No one sells a repair kit for the 64 that I can find. I would just like to have a photo of a complete 64 hinge since both my right and left doors are both broken. Has anyone repaired one of these? Thanks for responding.

Both of mine are broken also that may be why 65 is different.

Thanks for responding Superdave, I fixed it buy buying a used 65 lower hinge for 20 bucks and put a new roller on after drilling out the old one. Cost 45 bucks in parts but worth the effort. Good thing I work cheap so labor isn't a problem.
