A lot of police cars were two door cars. Four door cars became more prevalent in the 60s.

Cool cars!

You know in hindsight, I’ve never heard anyone say “sherif car...” or “call the sherif!” Haha but you learn something every day.

I saw the car in my post before on display. Come to think of it,I may have posted it... this was my first time seeing it on the road. I asked back then why it was a two door, and was told most then were, but it still doesn’t explain what they did when they arrested someone. Wouldn’t 2 doors have been easier ?

In our neck of the Upstate New York woods, we do in fact have the Monroe County Sheriff that serves all of the Rochester/Monroe County suburbs!

I wish you could see it here. Many,
Many farms and cows
And barns before congestion and tall
Buildings.... it’s as country as the middle of nowhere but 17 miles from a small city. Unique. Great minus the taxes and a few other things

Drew, many people don't realize once you get out of New York City, it's as rural as most any state, and in the top 10 states covered with forests!

Keep an eye out for me, I finally got my 53 convert on the road this summer, you might see me tooling around!

They just threw them in the trunk! I guess they either put them in the back seat or called the paddy wagon.

Idaho,

we must get the cars next to each other! I have had issues with the way mine runs or else I'd suggest the Log Cabin some wednesday night. Bay Rd is a bit nuts for me... if you hear of a cruise somewhere toward the middle that isnt over the top, let me know.

As for the two door cop cars, maybe we should go back to that?

In fact if I remember right the 1956 Buicks the CHP used were specific to them, the two door sedan wasn't offered as a Century with the bigger engine, CHP had to custom order them that way.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, criticize it on the internet.

Off topic(ish) but anyone see someone using the new caprice AKA Holden Commadore cop car as a personal vehicle? downright awesome.
