I'm looking for suggestions on what to do with my used 216 and 3 speed tranny. Although not rebuilt, the engine starts and runs good and the 3 speed tranny shifts like it should. I cannot foresee ever wanting to use this engine again so I would like to send it to a new home. I thought I would ask if the auto shop at our local high school might want it but that's probably unlikely.

Maybe this should get moved to the For Sale section, but the price is FREE to whoever will pick it up.

I'm in sunny southern New Mexico.

Thanks for any suggestions folks!

As has been suggested here in the past, the 216 would probably make a good boat anchor. There is some need for a good used block among those folks that want to restore to stock. You might try to run an ad in the VCCA magazine. Weight is the problem due to shipping cost. The transmission is a different story if the Synchros are good. I have a friend here who went through 3 216 blocks due to cracks from freezing.

I have unknowingly purchased two severely freeze cracked motors, a 235 and a 216. Both had been completely rebuilt but left in hard freezing conditions. All the other parts beside the blocks were good.
