I am scrapping a 93',the motor and trans are both
disconnected and ready to pull. A local wants to
buy the motor, maybe the whole truck, but needs to
hear it run. No tank,it fell off last fall.

I have a remote starter switch.
If I put a jumper from the battery to the coil should
it fire by squirting some gas past the throttle plates

Probably not.

1. The TBI does not have carburetor bowls to hold fuel. It depends on a constant supply from the fuel pump.
2. You will need the signals from the ECM to get it to start TPS, MAP, etc.
3. You will need the signal from the fuel pump to the oil pressure sensor by the distributor.

There's probably some I forgot but it won't be simple.

If the coil and ignition module are connected together then you should get spark by powering the coil. Once you have spark it would kind of run off fuel dumped down the throttle body.

As said if you can power up the coil etc.. for spark but it needs a steady stream of fuel we test fire tbi motors at the shop often and use a 2 gallon mower tank with a 5/16 line fed into the butterfly it's crude but gets enough of a run time to hear it run wouldn't go for to long being high rev could hook an elec pump up and run it into the fuel line at rear of tbi to. As stated though without tps and that runs crappy
