Hello new to the group i have a 55 bel air with stock 265 ci and a th350. The trans was not hooked up and i am having trouble finding a vacuum port to connect the trans. The intake does not have any ports that i can see and the 2 barrel carb only has the one on the back which is being used and goes to the back of the engine. Any help is appreciated and thank you guys.

If that one line is manifold vacuum, you could tee off that for the trans, but where does that line go?

I think you need to find out where the existing vacuum line goes. What size is it, 3/16” or 3/8”? If it is 3/8” maybe the PO converted the road draft to a PCV.

Is the distributor vacuum advance still a hard steel line from the front of the carb.

Just curious; do you have the starter motor adpter ring sold by several of the Tri-Five vendors? 55-56 265's do not have a starter motor mounting "pad" on the block, so require the adapter ring for a starter motor with a newer, aluminum case automatic transmission. Many guys do not know this. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

You can use a turboglide starter. They bolt to the 57 block.
