I bought my 68 Impala Custom in 2013 and don't really have any plans to restore it but I keep it maintained and have been adding touches to make it my own. For some reason 68 Impala parts can be tricky to find, aftermarket, OEM, or NOS. I finally tracked down a core support pulled from a parts car to put on my which has the bottom completely rotted out. That project scares me a bit.

I'm a car enthusiast and engineer at heart but I am tackling this on my own and turning 51 year old bolts is a bit nerve racking.

Flint MI hosts Back to the Bricks Car show and since my car was built at Fischer Body in Flint I love going to make it like a Homecoming, but this year I want to do a little extra.

-New Core Support
-New Thrust Bushings
-New Shocks
-Paint the Wheels
-Add headers and exhaust

I have the core supports and the rally dish caps for my wheels, shocks no problem, thrust bushing tricky, and headers are new for me.

I want to do long tube headers and Purple Hornies for exhaust directly out of the header. I have watched videos and I really dig the sound.

Lots of rambling, lots of planning, and BTTB is in 2 1/2 weeks.

OK. I give up. What the heck are thrust bushings?

I think they are the same as trailing arm bushings.

End Link Bushing is the correct term. Replaced them.

Hey, 427SS65, looks like I didn't have a clue & you guessed wrong.

For the ends of the front sway bar, right?
