Hi friends, I'm replacing the coil on my 28 Roadster to try to eliminate the problem of the engine just cutting off at about 4 miles of driving. I have the new coil and took out the old coil, which very possibly is the original "Autolite" coil, but the old one was not marked (+) and (-) and the new one is. Should the wire coming from the distributor cap go to the positive side of the coil or the negative? I think, if I know that, I'll be able to take it from there. Thank you in advance for your help.

The distributor provides a ground for the coil. So with that in mind the positive from the ignition switch goes to the plus side of the coil (assuming neg ground systems) and the remaining wire goes to the distributor.

Hope that helps.
