Hi everyone, new guy here with a really dumb question. On 61-64 2 door post cars, what is the metal surround that goes around the rear quarter window called, and how are they attached?

Very velcome drhach

All questions adds something to this forum.

I suggest: drip rail chrome trim, and they are cramped over the drip rail.
Its actally stainless steel and takes a lot of carefullness to dont ruin while removing.
I have done it but i hope someone more experianced here could give you more specific advice how to remove it if that is what you are going to do.

You are very velcome.

Svenne

I'm going a different way with this question. I think the question is regarding the quarter window frame.

1) The lower horizontal part is part of the quarter panel assy

2) The front vertical piece is the outer lock pillar

3) The upper part of the window frame is made up of two separate pieces. The outer roof rail has the forward portion of the upper frame.

4)The back half is the panel between the quarter glass and back glass (sail panel) and is called a outer roof extension.

If the window frame is damaged, the easy way is getting a used quarter panel. This will give you all the parts. The individual pieces are not available new.

Thanks Swifster. I was hoping somewhere there was a name for the combined pieces. I assume they are all welded in place.

Regards,
Dan
