Well finally the 50 is in the body shop. A year and a half later then planed; but due to heath reasons, things were put on hold. I'm back now after kicking Mr Big C's censored.

Here are a few pic's of how far the metal fabricator has got with the body panels.

I bought all the body panels from EMS. I was expecting to hear complaints about the fit. But it was just the opposite; the metal man thought they were great. "Not a perfect fit but they were easily worked to fit pretty close."

Congratulations on both milestones (beating the "C" and getting the car into the body shop). I agree 100% on the EMS panels. My metal guy had almost nothing but praise for how well the EMS panels fit on my '53.

And best of luck the body shop. Sounds as if they are already making good progress. Just stay on top of them!

Glad you are moving on, whipping the big C is no small accomplishment, I have had to do it 3 times.

Decide on a color scheme yet?

Nice car and I've always envied the powertrain upgrade you made to the car. Just curious, did you also swap brake parts as well, or are you using the original brake setup?

Glad you are better now!

Going to stay with the same colour; but adding pearl to the paint.
Front brakes are mid 80's GM style pads and rotors, rears are the 9.5" drum from an S blazer. Added a power booster and dual master.
This winter I plan on adding electric power steering. I already have the power assist motor out of a Saturn Vue; here on the bench. After the install, it'll be a matter of running power and ground to the control module. Then because I already have the computer to run the engine; all I'll need to do is tap into the serial data circuit and I'll have automatic variable rate power assist. Low speed full assist, hwy speeds very little if any assist. Maybe my wife will drive the car after that; but not sure how good an idea that is? She may steal the car from me? LOL

Hey Guys where in your opinion, is the best place to buy new exterior door handles??

The panels look great! I envy you very much; my body work is years behind schedule. And, congrats on beating the big C!

So glad you are feeling better and good luck with finishing the car. Sounds like a good plan.
