Here's a couple of pictures of mine. My originals were still attached, except for one. When I got ready to install the new ones I held the skirt in place and made a mark on the finder with a pencil thru the slot in the skirt then I had to tweak them a couple of times to get them in the correct position. Ok that's how I have mine. Just seems kinda half censored. That part clamps onto the fender but the other side just slips in. It should clamp on both sides.

The locking mechanisms are keeping mine on pretty snug and also makes for a quick install and removal. If they were clamped on the skirt, they would be difficult to get to and harder to install and remove. Lamar
