I’ve got a 1950 235 i changed the oil today .. it has the old canister and filter .. The canister just has one line coming out of the bottom I’m not real sure that’s Right it did have oil in it when I took the filter out !! All the pictures I found It showed two lines one coming out of the side and one coming out of the bottom.. can anyone give me information on how that can work with just one line?

It doesn't if stock accessory. it needs an inlet and outlet. They are small lines as filter only filters 10% of oil flow. I assume it's mounted on the intake.one outlet on upper side and one outlet in bottom.

Oh boy, well you need a new line, you can order one from "The filling Station" or other supplier or go to a good parts house, purchase a grease gun hose and add a swivel to that and there you go. Remember wtih a running filter you need to add one quart for the filter or a total of 6 quarts per oil/filter change.
