Got a 70 Chevelle, original big block 4 speed car. Backup lights always on. What are the most likely causes & where to look? Thanks.

look for switch on shift linkage. got to be two, one for neutral and one for back up.

There is a single combination switch on the steering column. It is mechanically connected to the reverse transmission lever via the "back-drive linkage. The back drive linkage is likely missing, especially if you don't have the original muncie shifter and have a Hurst shifter. if the BD linkage is missing, a cheap alternative is an after market switch from Hurst that mounts on the shifter. In the mean time, remove your BU lights for safety.
