WOW. That is NUTS! They could have spent a few more hours on those repair panels and fitted them properly. Check with the guys at EMS Auto. They have a string at the top of the landing page for the main 49-54 forum, I think. Not sure if their panels will be tall enough to reach the original metal on your quarter but it'd be worth a shot to talk to them.

I hope that the rest of the car holds less surprises for you. Just don't get discouraged. Fixing these things is like eating an elephant - take one little bite at a time, and just keep on chewing......

Since you are working on a Sedan Delivery, you would be looking for 49-50 rear quarters or patch panels. The full quarters, either NOS GM or after market from back in the day [Schofield, Anzick, Foxcraft and the like] do show up on eBay from time to time.

Wow! Was this car advertised for sale with words "the hard work is already done" or "in primer, just needs block sanding"? I'm always leery of those. Still, great project car body style. I've always liked sedan delivery's.
