Wonderiung if any one else has had this problem. [1997 S10 LS 4.3L V6 2WD] A couple of months ago my engine seriously over heated [260-270] no steam or water to the outside on the ground. Up to this point have never had any problems with temp or starting or running, that being said, had radiator, water pump, thermostat, lower hose replaced and motor was flushed. Tons of junk flushed out. Done a pressure test on coolant system and it built pressure and it held for quite a while. Coolant now staying right where it is suppose to in radiator. Now motor runs at temperature like it did before but it developed a hesitation or miss when put in gear [any gear]. It would bring up a random misfire code. So changed the distributor, plugs, wires, rotor, cap, coil. Now when you drive it and it gets up to temperature and let it set for a while and then go back out to start it sounds and acts like a complete motor. Does not sound like the same starter, grinds and somewhat hard to start. Had fuel filter changed. Pressure test done on fuel system and good. At whit's end now.

Nice maintenance. The problem could be in the FI spider. The poppets could be clogged. One or more could have cooked. Are misfires random? You should do a compression check on all cylinders.
