I'm running a single point distributor. I used to have a Jacobs ignition, no longer do I. The car runs fine. Any suggestions for an electronic distributor and ignition or just stick with what works?

Great question I will tell you my thoughts. I replaced the points in the stock distributor in my 53 Belair with pertronix electronic points. Worked great, never had a problem. But I always had the thought that if the car stopped running because of no ignition it might be hard to troubleshoot without a spare set of pertronix to substitude. My current car is a 55 Belair with stock ignition and stock points and its going to stay that way. My two cents worth, good luck.

If you want start! right now! No problems ever!! Stock looks but high performance!!!
My suggestion is that you check out Daves Small Body HEI!!!
Had a stock distributor converted and never looked back!!!!
All this was caused by : Total failure of Mallory Ignition system, including coil leaking!!!
Total failure by Ignitor System!!
I just got tired of having to tow my car home from these failures!!!!
"try it you'l like it!!!"
