Do you actually have the bezels? From what I have heard, getting a decent pair is most of the battle.

I do have a set, trying to locate the cad buckets, harder to find than the bezels. Stock Chev buckets are just a little off. Thinking of putting studs in the bezels and mounting the buckets from behind, or mounting the two as an assembly and bolting on from behind the fender. I am making the upper tabs now and will work on the tabs for the screws nxt. Still planing the setup before any drilling or shaving of the bezels, there are some bosses in the bezels that don't let the buckets in flush in the bezels. Using new 53 Chev truck buckets, as my 210 buckets are rusted out. Truck buckets work fine with the stock headlight rings and 210 bezels. The caddy bezels are super trick and the points on the sides match the lines on the fenders perectly if you can figure the mounts out Still brainstorming...

Sounds like you are well ahead of the game. Post some pictures when you can. I've always admired the way Caddy bezels look.

Welcome to Chevy talk. the best forum on web. Please post pictures when you get this done. I sure do like them more than my stock '50 chevy ones. I also like Pontiac belt trim... subtle things that were so much easier to source 60 years ago

Drew Thank you for the Welcome, I will try to post the pics if I can. I'm actually picking them up from the machinist tomorrow. it was hard to find a machine shop to drill and tap the 4 bosses each on the bezels. Will try to fit them this weekend. Most shops did not want such a small job, 500 dollars to do the job, Really. But found a gentleman who has a shop and is building a diesel truck. My son is into performance diesel, and my guy wants to do some trading, I now have a new found friend and machinist. MB in SLC, UT.

Thankyou Chevyfreddie, Are the Pics of your car? I Just finished mounting one of mine on the driver's side of my 53. And the Look is awesome and just like in the pics. If it is your car, how did you mount them, Cad buckets or studs? Cad. buckets I could not find, but found many bezels although very pricey, to say the least. The studs I farmed out, and pricey too. But its all about the look and nothing is too good for my girl. My 53 takes me back to when I was a kid w/my dad, working on his 53. MB in SLC, Ut. Thank you, CF. Will try to post the pics I took when I learn how.

Kora if you support the site, even the $20/year option, you are able to upload directly from new port or “reply” (just not quick reply). What kind of 53 do you have? A 53 or 54 is top of my list. I actually was just talking to a dude about a 54 but it’s a little too much.

Drew Thankyou. I Have a 53 210 2 door post. I purchased in Feb of this year. It had been in a Barn in Idaho since the seventies last running in 79. Another person rested it away from Idaho and brought it to Ut... He gave up and after putting brakes and a M/C on it, and sold it to me. Now I'm checking and correcting previous work done on the car as well as searching out as many options as possible to install. Found a radio and had it cut down and Bluetooth. The car is solid as it was undercoated w/ the thickest undercoat I have ever seen. It has the original 216, 3spd and t/tube. Plans are to bag and put an IFS, shocks w/ bags and an LS with auto trans. I think it was previously restored as the root beer up and down is still shiny. Only flaws are a hit to the d/rear, will fix with rear quarters as they are rusted on the bottoms as usual. Going to wrap it rocker to rocker outer and inners as well as tailpan. Only to preserve it for my son and his kids. when I'm done having fun. Thank for your interest this forum has been good for me cause I just love my car I call it my time machine, it makes me young every time I'm near it, as I'm only taking care of for the next generation. Sorry for being long-winded, MB in SLC,Ut.

Wow, the bezels came out great, would you please share how you were able to mount the bezels. Do have someone that can prepare the bezels to mount on the fenders I would greatly appreciate their information. Thanks for the information

5053 bel air, chevy Freddie is located in Germany, he did not answer back to my post. Mine are done and mounted just this weekend. I had a machine shop drill 4 studs, 8/32 dia. into the four bosses on the bezels. There are also 2 bosses on each side for a 2stud in each, mount. I did the drilling and mounting of the bezels myself, on the fenders, it took some time but all is good. They look like c/Freddies and am very happy will post a pic when I learn how. Email me if you want a pic I think I can figure out how to send a pic that way. It was pricy, but worth it to me, My son bought them for me for fathers day. It was a choice between them or an outside visor. They do stand out if you know what you're looking at.
